During the summit of "SARS", IMB was still held as scheduled from May.6th to May. 10th in Koeln, Germany. More than 30 Chinese exhibitors and many visitors participated the exhibition., though the amount of corporations and individuals was reduced due to "SARS".
Being the world biggest apparel machinery show, IMB not only presented the biggest scale, but also displayed the first class exhibits. The exhibition covered not only the core process-sewing machinery, automate sewing equipment and their parts and accessories, also pre-sewing cloth preparing and cutting equipment and after-sewing trimming and ironing equipment, sewing assembly auto-hanging system, embroidering machine, CAD/CAM, garment manufacturing managing software, label making equipment and the newest garment accessories, required by modern garment corporations. These presented the highest level in the field nowadays. Chinese garment corporations and sewing machinery manufacturing corporations would be highly benefited by IMB.
Overseas businessmen didn<|>t desolate Chinese corporations in terms of "SARS". Almost all the participated Chinese corporations won satisfying orders and reached good exhibition results.
On the other hand, the scale of IMB2003 was reduced to 80,000m2, by about 20% of 100,000M2 in 1997 and 2000, when IMB was at its summit. Visitors of IMB 2003 was also reduced respectively. At IMB2003, China International Sewing Machinery & Accessories Show£¨CISMA2003£¬Oct.21st-Oct.24th£¬Shanghai£© was broadly concerned and caught eyes from exhibitors and visitors. This also proved that not only the center of garment manufacturing and the sewing machinery manufacturing, but also that of the sewing machinery exhibition was being transferred to China. Some exhibitors anticipated that CISMA would surpass the IMB to become the world first exhibition in the near future.
